Summary of the contracting process

West Northamptonshire Council is seeking tender submissions for its Bar and Catering Concessions Contracts, specifically for Lot 1 (Bar & Alcohol) and Lot 2 (Christmas Parties). This procurement is targeted at the catering services industry located in the UKF24 region, including Northampton. The procurement is in the tender stage, with submissions due by 3rd July 2026. This open procurement process is valued at GBP 256,000 with the potential to extend the contract for two additional 12-month periods beyond the initial two-year term. Optional site visits are scheduled for 15th June 2026, and a mobilisation period will begin ahead of contract commencement on 1st September 2026, due to current contracts terminating on 31st August 2026.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in catering services, particularly those equipped to provide bar and alcohol services as well as catering for festive events like Christmas parties. The contract terms stipulate collaboration with West Northamptonshire Council’s established Catering Frameworks, enabling the successful suppliers to access an extended network of events. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are especially encouraged to apply, given the suitability criteria. With the requirement for a sole provider for each lot and a commission structure that benefits both the provider and the Council, this tender represents a substantial growth opportunity for businesses willing to collaborate closely and market effectively within the council’s venues.
