This initiative falls under the works category, specifically within the development of non-residential real estate and construction work for commercial buildings. The primary goal is to appoint experienced developers to acquire a long leasehold interest in the land and create a high-quality business or industrial park. A preliminary market engagement exercise is underway, with a supplier questionnaire as its centrepiece, due for submission by 12 noon on 17th July 2026, to propel the Council's understanding of the current market capabilities and outlooks.

This tender represents a substantial opportunity for businesses involved in commercial real estate development and those offering innovative construction solutions. The focus on a long-term lease and a business or industrial park development indicates a promising avenue for firms capable of delivering high-quality, economically impactful projects. Companies with a track record in large-scale development or those looking to expand into the Northern Ireland region would find this tender particularly beneficial for growth. Engaging in the preliminary market engagement exercise allows businesses to influence tender specifications and align their services with the Council’s objectives, enhancing their competitive advantage in future procurement stages.
