Summary of the contracting process

Somerset Council is in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Modular Ramping Service in Somerset." The contract focuses on health and social work services with additional elements involving miscellaneous fabricated products and installation work. The procurement follows an open procedure, allowing broad participation, and is set to be valued at roughly £1,048,000, taking place in the United Kingdom, specifically the South West region. Key dates include a supplier briefing session on 30th June 2026, submission deadline on 14th August 2026, and final award decision by 23rd September 2026. This forward-looking procurement aims to deliver essential adjustable access ramps to enhance community health infrastructure.

This tender offers significant business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in modular construction, fabrication, and health-related services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are especially encouraged to participate as the project includes provisions for their involvement. With a potential contract period starting on 1st November 2026 and lasting until July 2029, the tender is designed to facilitate collaboration with Somerset Council and its partners in delivering high-impact, flexible solutions. This initiative not only supports strategic health and social care goals but also promises an active market for those specialising in adaptive equipment and community support services. Interested parties can enhance their portfolios by aligning with public sector priorities and partnering with a reputable local authority.
