Summary of the contracting process

Wirral Council has initiated a planning process for a public procurement to modernise its Revenues and Benefits systems, as well as the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). The procurement falls under the IT services industry category, focusing on consulting, software development, Internet, and support. This project is associated with the UKD74 region, specifically Wallasey, United Kingdom. The procurement stage is currently in planning, with key deadlines including a milestone due on 13th July 2026 for engaging with the market. The main objective is to identify strategic directions and modernisation needs for the new systems, ensuring they are resilient, efficient, and cost-effective. Potential contracts could start in early 2028 with a planned duration of five years.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialised in IT services to engage with a sub-central government authority. Companies capable of providing innovative solutions and support in software development and Internet services would be well-suited to compete in this tender process. By participating in this procurement, businesses can showcase their expertise in delivering modern, value-for-money services while fostering a collaborative relationship with Wirral Council in shaping the future of its service delivery. The planning stage and market engagement initiative provide an early entry point for interested parties to influence the procurement and design of the future systems.
