The buyer is carrying out preliminary market engagement to refine the future specification and is inviting companies to register interest, comment on proposed requirements and suggest suitable concessions or attractions for the site. Responses to the engagement questionnaire are requested by 11 September 2026, close of business. Any suggestions will be used for scoping and will not be binding. The planned partnership is intended to support activities and events delivered on site.

This will suit small and medium-sized enterprises, voluntary, community and social enterprises, and established operators of outdoor leisure, visitor attractions, family entertainment, wellbeing activities or seasonal events. Relevant suppliers may include providers able to design, manage and safely deliver activities that work across accessible, flat woodland paths and appeal to families and varied visitor groups. Experience of operating at weekends, during school holidays and at seasonal events is likely to be useful, as is the ability to work within a developing visitor site and coordinate with existing facilities and attractions. Suppliers with ideas for practical concessions or new attractions should engage early, while the buyer is shaping the future specification. Potential operational needs include secure storage, using an existing container or arranging additional on-site storage.

Forestry England have a future opportunity for new site partnerships to deliver activities and events at Jeskyns Community Woodland in the East England Forest District. The activity / event providers must deliver family leisure/wellbeing activities which add to our visitor experience onsite and increase stay duration. It is preferable for the activities to happen at peak visitor times (i.e., weekends and school holidays) and the events to occur seasonally. Forestry England are actively developing the facilities at the Jeskyns site in order to encourage additional visitor numbers and stay duration. This includes establishing additional toilet facilities and further car parking. Potential site activities/events could include an outdoor cinema or segway hire. There are a number of flat, accessible paths across the site which can be utilised in any proposed activity. It should also be noted that there is an existing storage container that may be used in the delivery of this requirement / there is space on site for an additional storage container if required. Forestry England are currently scoping our requirements to ensure that the future tender documentation and specification accurately reflects the offerings of the outdoor activities/events market. We invite interested companies from the market to register their interest in this future requirement and provide feedback on potential clarifications on the feasibility of our emerging plans. Current facilities and activities include Jeskyns Cafe, disc golf, forest school, puppy and dog life skills courses, parkrun, and the Room on the Broom trail.
