Summary of the contracting process

The Food Standards Agency is procuring scientific research and related consultancy to investigate transmission pathways and the origins of antimicrobial resistance. The appointed supplier will carry out whole-genome-sequencing-enabled source attribution analysis of infectious intestinal disease, using data from the Third Study of Infectious Intestinal Disease and other relevant datasets. This is a single research services requirement delivered in the United Kingdom. The work is intended for organisations able to combine genomic analysis, epidemiological research and interpretation of complex health and food-safety data. FSA are looking to appoint a supplier to deliver a research project to undertake whole genome sequencing enabled source attribution analysis of infectious intestinal disease (IID), using data generated through The Third Study of Infectious Intestinal Disease (IID3) and relevant datasets. The contract will run for a minimum of 24 month, with an optional 6-month extension period if required.
