Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the "Capital Major Works Contractor" tender is initiated by mhs homes group, a public authority located in Chatham, United Kingdom. This selective procurement is aimed at securing a contractor to handle substantial projects across mhs homes' housing stock, encompassing works such as kitchen and bathroom replacements, window and door renewals, roofing, and more, valuing a total of £4.5 million. The tender process is currently in the 'tender' stage with a competitive flexible procedure incorporating up to three stages: PSQ, ITT, and an optional preferred supplier stage. Key dates include an expression of interest deadline on 27th July 2026, and the contract period stretches from 18th January 2027 to 18th January 2030, with potential renewals. The procurement method focuses on ensuring competition through a selective assessment at the PSQ stage, with up to six bidders progressing to the ITT stage based on technical capability and economic criteria.

This tender presents substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in high-value construction and refurbishment projects. With a significant budget allocation and broad scope of works, businesses involved in scaffolding, window and door installations, roofing, and structural repairs may find this contract highly lucrative. The procurement process is well-suited for medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the capability to deliver complex construction projects and manage the requirements detailed in the tender documents. The competitive nature of the flexible procedure ensures that businesses with a strong blend of pricing competitiveness and quality delivery will have the best chance of securing this contract.
