Summary of the contracting process

The public procurement process for the "City of London Corporation & City of London Police Occupational Health Physician Services" is being undertaken by The Mayor and Commonalty and Citizens of the City of London. This planning stage process encourages contractors to participate in a pre-market engagement exercise to help define an optimal procurement strategy. The focus is on occupational health services, involving both the City of London Corporation and City of London Police, mainly in the UK Health Services industry category. Key dates include the submission deadline of the market engagement questionnaire, set for 31st July 2026 by noon. The anticipated start date for the contract is 3rd March 2027, which will last until 28th February 2031, pending a performance review for an optional extension.

This tender represents a valuable opportunity for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those with expertise in occupational health. Given the need for both routine and additional occupational health physician (OHP) services, organisations possessing the capability or partnerships to deliver between 90 to 107 days of OHP time per year are well-suited for this opportunity. With a gross value of £192,000, it is an attractive contract for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) or Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises (VCSEs), particularly those qualified as Associates or Members of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine. Companies with a reliable, vetted OHP workforce and an understanding of police vetting requirements can leverage this invitation to establish or expand their service provision to a prestigious client within the City of London.

Planning Information

The City seeks input from the contractor market to understand what might be the most attractive way of packaging and scoping a future procurement opportunity to deliver the project outcomes. It also gives a useful early insight into the likely level of interest in a proposed project from the market. Interested organisations will be asked to complete and return a brief questionnaire. To access the PME questionnaire and supporting documentation, please register on the electronic tendering system 'City of London Corporation Sourcing & Contracts Portal' url: https://cityoflondon.ukp.app.jaggaer.com/esop/guest/go/opportunity/detail?opportunityId=61254 and search for 'City of London Corporation & City of London Police Occupational Health Physician Services'.
