Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, handled by Wrexham County Borough Council, was for the appointment of a contractor to provide City Centre Wardens in Wrexham. The initiative falls under the services category, specifically security services, and spans the region of UKL23 within the United Kingdom. The process was completed as of 6th July 2026, with a contract signed on 21st May 2026 and services commencing on 1st June 2026 through to 31st March 2028. This was a direct award procurement, executed below the threshold without competition, marking the completion of the award stage. Radius Security Ltd has been contracted to deliver warden services for a minimum of 80 hours per week, helping to maintain a safe and welcoming city centre environment.

This contract presents significant business growth opportunities for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in security services. Businesses that can provide reliable and responsive warden services, particularly those adept in managing anti-social behaviour and collaborative engagements with local partners, would find this contract beneficial. The flexibility for potential service expansion upon receiving additional funding offers further growth opportunities. Security firms with experience in event management or those capable of scaling operations based on increased demand will be well-suited to meet the variable needs envisaged within the contract's terms.
