Summary of the contracting process

The public procurement process titled "Spectroil Maintenance" is currently in the planning stage, led by Defence Equipment and Support, a central government authority based in Bristol, United Kingdom. This tender aims to engage the market for services involving the maintenance, calibration, and repair of Spectroil M machines used in oil analysis for the F-35 engine and lift fan. The procurement process, outlined in a Preliminary Market Engagement Notice, is designed to evaluate potential suppliers ahead of a formal procurement stage. Interested suppliers are invited to express their interest by 31st July 2026. The contract is anticipated to cover an annual maintenance service, with possibilities for future ad-hoc consumables, and is geographically restricted to suppliers within the UK.

This tender provides substantial growth opportunities for businesses specialising in repair and maintenance services of testing apparatus, as well as calibration services, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises. Companies with capabilities in providing diagnostic and repair services for complex machinery and offering comprehensive support packages will find this opportunity aligned with their expertise. The Defence sector's requirement for high standards and the potential for contract renewals up to December 2029 offer businesses a platform to establish a long-term relationship with the Ministry of Defence, bring innovation in service delivery, and enhance their market standing.
