Summary of the contracting process

Rossett Community Council is initiating the "Rossett Park Revival - Pride in Place" procurement, seeking experienced playground contractors for the redevelopment of a children's play area in Wrexham, United Kingdom. The project is part of an open procurement process with an emphasis on works, specifically under the playground equipment category. The tender process, governed by Welsh devolved regulations and UK legislation, is currently in the tender stage, with the submission deadline set for 16th August 2026. Key tasks include the installation of new inclusive play equipment, safety surfacing, and landscaping, aligned with BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177 standards. Enquiries can be made until 31st July 2026, with planned project completion by October 2026, though the contract period may extend until January 2027.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses specialising in playground installations, particularly those with a background in delivering high-quality and inclusive public play spaces. Ideal candidates will be those with proven experience in similar public sector projects and the capacity to meet the council's requirements for creativity, accessibility, and environmental sustainability. SMEs and VCSEs are encouraged to apply, with the process accommodating electronic submissions. With a contract value of approximately £67,700, this project is an excellent opportunity for companies to showcase their expertise and potentially secure future collaborations with Rossett Community Council and similar public authorities.

Notice Title

Rossett Park Revival - Pride in Place

Notice Description

Rossett Community Council is seeking tenders from experienced playground contractors to undertake the redevelopment of the children's play area within Rossett Park. The Council wishes to create an attractive, inclusive and accessible play space for children of mainly older ages and abilities that provides challenging, imaginative and sensory play opportunities whilst complementing the character of the existing park. This is to balance out from the toddler play area we had installed a couple of years ago, hence why it should be aimed at the older aged children, to encourage them to utilise our green space within the community. The successful contractor will be expected to provide all labour, materials, plant, design input where required, installation, testing and certification necessary to complete the project. The scheme is expected to include: * Removal of existing play equipment where identified. * Supply and installation of new inclusive play equipment. * Safety surfacing. * Accessible pathways and site furniture where applicable. * Landscaping and biodiversity enhancements. * Protection and incorporation of retained heritage play features. * Compliance with BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177. * Practical completion, inspections and certification. Contractors should demonstrate previous experience delivering similar high-quality inclusive playground projects for local authorities, town or community councils or comparable public sector clients.
