Summary of the contracting process

Peterborough City Council is in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Future Independent Voice for Social Care in Peterborough (Healthwatch)." This initiative falls under the health and social work services industry category and is set in Peterborough, East of England, UK. The procurement focuses on establishing an independent voice for Adult Social Care users, with an existing contract ending on 31st March 2027. The council plans to launch the Invitation to Tender (ITT) in September 2026. Currently, the council is hosting a market engagement event on 4th August 2026, inviting potential providers to participate online. This event aims to discuss the proposed service model and procurement timeline, with the registration deadline set for 23:59 on the event day.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in community engagement, feedback collection, and social care advocacy. It is particularly suitable for SMEs and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) interested in influencing the design and delivery of social care services. By attending the market engagement event, businesses can provide valuable input and better understand the requirements, thereby positioning themselves for potential participation in the forthcoming tender process slated for 2027. The opportunity also offers an extended contractual period until 2030, with a potential renewal, which could provide sustained business growth prospects in the sector.
