Summary of the contracting process

Buckinghamshire Council is currently in the planning phase for a procurement process concerning two complementary Highways Framework Contracts, aimed at supporting the delivery of the Council's programmes for highways, transport, drainage, structures, and environmental improvements. The procurement process, initiated as a tender, is classified under the industry category of construction work for highways and roads. Located in Aylesbury, United Kingdom, Buckinghamshire Council is conducting a Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) with a deadline for feedback set for 4th August 2026. This engagement intends to gather valuable input from market participants to shape future procurement strategies and contract requirements.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in highway infrastructure works and professional consultancy services, particularly those capable of delivering efficient, high-quality solutions. SMEs are encouraged to participate, as the procurement process has specific suitability considerations that include such enterprises. Companies with expertise ranging from highway construction and maintenance to technical and environmental consultancy will find ample opportunity to offer their services, helping to deliver flexible and effective solutions to the Council’s future infrastructure projects. Engaging in this process could provide businesses with a platform to innovate, expand their market reach, and form strategic partnerships within the public sector.
