The requirement is considered essential to ensure continuity of cardiology diagnostic services, maintain clinical safety and support future strategic developments in cardiovascular information management across NHS Wales. Following this date, the system will no longer receive software updates, security patches, technical support or manufacturer assurance which means this upgrade is pivotal to ensure services continue and patient care is not interrupted. The system facilitates the end-to-end cardiology imaging workflow from image acquisition, to reporting, to making results available to clinicians across the Health Board and neighbouring Health Boards ensuring clinicians have timely access to high quality diagnostic information to deliver effective patient treatment.
