Summary of the contracting process

The Charity Commission for England and Wales is planning a digital transformation services programme known as the Charity Commission Futures Programme. It covers software packages and information systems, together with IT consulting, software development, internet services and technical support. The programme is intended to deliver the Commission’s wider digital transformation outcomes and includes work already under way during its three-year programme. Services will be delivered in the United Kingdom. The procurement is structured as a single package of services and is being led by the Charity Commission as a central government public authority. This will suit IT consultancies, digital transformation specialists, software developers, systems integrators and providers of internet or technical support services. Suppliers should be prepared to contribute to a multi-year public-sector technology programme, understand transformation outcomes and work across separate procurement exercises as requirements develop. Relevant strengths are likely to include designing and implementing information systems, software development, technology consultancy, integration, service transition and ongoing support. Businesses with experience of delivering complex digital change for central government or other regulated organisations may be well placed to respond to future requirements. Small and medium-sized enterprises are identified as suitable, so specialist firms and focused delivery partners should consider preparing capability statements, examples of comparable work and potential partnership arrangements ahead of the individual procurements.

The Charity Commission is currently in Year 1 of a 3-year Digital Transformation Programme (the "Futures Programme") and invites prospective suppliers to attend a Supplier Engagement session to provide an overview of the Futures Programme as a whole, the work underway and our intended outcomes for the programme as well as a Commercial update. The contract start and end dates included in this notice cover the remaining period of the programme - actual start and end dates will be determined by individual procurement exercises.
