The UK Health Security Agency, acting for the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, is exploring research services across the United Kingdom. The potential requirement is for research partners to investigate the attitudes, knowledge, experiences and behaviours of the public, healthcare professionals and public health professionals. The planned requirement is above threshold, with an estimated value of £6,000,000 excluding VAT and £7,200,000 including VAT. One planned lot covers the services. The anticipated contract period is from 31 December 2026 to 30 December 2029. These dates and the potential requirement may be shaped by the market engagement before any future competition.

This engagement will suit research agencies and specialist partnerships able to design and deliver robust studies of public opinion and behaviour, as well as research involving healthcare and public health professionals. Relevant capability may include questionnaire design, polling, surveys, qualitative and quantitative social research, statistical analysis, recruitment of representative participants, and interpretation of attitudes, knowledge and lived experiences. Suppliers with experience working on health, public health, government or other sensitive public-facing research will be well placed to respond to the market research. Organisations that can demonstrate reliable UK-wide fieldwork, appropriate research governance, data handling and clear reporting should prepare evidence of their capability. SMEs and voluntary, community and social enterprises are expressly considered suitable, including those offering specialist access to communities or professional groups.
