Inpatient Detox (IPD)
Notice Description
This contract is for medically managed alcohol inpatient detox using drug strategy grant (DATRIG) which includes allocation for IPD. SBC commissions this service on behalf on Hartlepool and Stockton. The aim of the service is to provide safe withdrawal from alcohol dependence for residents who have been referred by Specialist Community Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services as part of their recovery plan. The service provides care to service users with substance-related problems that are sufficiently severe and/or complex that they require medical, psychiatric, and psychological care 24 hours a day. The service is staffed by a multidisciplinary team with specialist knowledge of the management of addiction. Treatment is based on a plan of care, developed prior to admission, by community drug and alcohol recovery services and should encompass relevant preparatory work and a seamless transition to on-going treatment after discharge. The treatment provided by the service is: * individually tailored (and reflects care needs based on co-morbidities) * flexible * able to make use of a menu of pharmacological, psychological and social interventions * specific to mental and substance-related disorders

Options: The initial term is 12 months with options to extend by up to two periods of 12 months.
