Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Ambulance Service is considering specialist vehicle conversion services for operational ambulance fleet replacement. This process is at the planning stage: the Scottish Ambulance Service has issued a prior information notice to test the market and develop its understanding of a possible future procurement. The buyer expects to hold a supplier engagement event on 27 and 28 October 2026, seeking market intelligence, feedback on the requirement, information about current capabilities, capacity and innovation, and expressions of interest in attending. A subsequent notice is currently expected on 1 December 2026. The purpose of this PIN is to: - Notify the market of a potential future procurement opportunity. - Seek market intelligence and supplier feedback. - Understand current vehicle conversion capabilities, capacity and innovation within the sector. - Identify suppliers capable of supporting medium to high-volume fleet replacement programmes. - Invite expressions of interest for participation in a supplier engagement event. This PIN is not a call for competition, does not constitute a contract notice or invitation to tender, and does not commit the Scottish Ambulance Service to commence any procurement process, award any contract or reimburse any costs incurred by suppliers in responding to this notice or participating in market engagement.
