South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority intends to procure adult education and skills bootcamp training for heavy goods vehicle (HGV) and bus drivers. The work is training services aimed at developing the skills needed for HGV and public service vehicle (PSV) driving. Delivery is in South Yorkshire. The Authority is engaging with learning organisations that have the expertise, capability, capacity and infrastructure to provide this training. The estimated value is £1 million excluding VAT (£1.2 million including VAT). The planned contract period is 1 February to 31 July 2027, with a possible extension to 31 July 2028. The procurement method and evaluation criteria have not yet been set out.

This programme is likely to suit learning and training providers with a track record in HGV and bus driver education, and with the trainers, facilities, equipment and operational infrastructure to deliver skills bootcamps. Pre Market Engagement Webinar Event for Skills Bootcamps – HGV/Bus Driver Training Programme. The Authority will be conducting a Microsoft Teams Webinar Event on Tuesday 20th October at 2pm to discuss the upcoming tender requirement. This event is open to Learning Organisations that have the experience/expertise, capability, capacity, and infrastructure in place to deliver HGV and PSV Skills Bootcamps. Max of three attendees per Learning Organisation. To register for the event please log in/register to ProContract (https://procontract.due-north.com/) and Express and Interest in tender/project reference DN832061, you will then need to issue a message via this tender with your details including, Company name, the Skills Bootcamp that you can deliver, Attendee names and Attendee email addresses. Registration for the event must take place no later than 10.00am on Tuesday 20th October. You will be then be sent the Teams link one hour before the event begins. Strictly no attendees will be able to join the event after the event starts at 2pm on Tuesday 20th October.
