Cleaning Services
Notice Description
The provision of Bright Support Services to provide essential cleaning and associated facilities services for the CGTC Braintree site, including office, laboratory, washroom and external area cleaning services.
Procurement Information
CGT Catapult considers that the requirements of Schedule 5, Paragraph 7 of the Procurement Act 2023 are met, as the proposed contract represents an extension of services provided by the existing supplier. 7 The public contract concerns the supply of goods, services or works by the existing supplier which are intended as an extension to, or partial replacement of, existing goods, services or works in circumstances where- (a)a change in supplier would result in the contracting authority receiving goods, services or works that are different from, or incompatible with, the existing goods, services or works, and (b)the difference or incompatibility would result in disproportionate technical difficulties in operation or maintenance. Bright Support Services currently provides essential cleaning and associated facilities services for the Braintree site, including office, laboratory, washroom and external area cleaning services. These services are required to maintain operational standards, and health and safety requirements. A 12 month direct award is required to enable the uninterrupted continuation of these services whilst a competitive procurement exercise is completed. Without the continued provision of these services, the site would experience operational disruption, including reduced cleanliness standards, potential health and safety risks, and impacts to the day-to-day operation of office, laboratory and communal areas. The direct award value of PS33,600 (excluding VAT) represents 12 months of service based on the current monthly spend and is intended solely as an interim arrangement whilst a compliant procurement activity is undertaken. A 12 month direct award with the incumbent supplier has been approved, whilst a competitive tender activity is conducted.
