Notice Description

Welsh Government Planning Directorate is responsible for producing guidance on how the requirements of The Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017 (as amended following EU exit) are to be implemented through the land use planning system in Wales.Required is a programme of training given the amended Regulations, case law and publication of revised phosphate targets advice, to instruct and update staff in this policy area on how the regulations are to be implemented through the land use planning system in Wales.The training programme required has two distinct elements namely a) a general refresh of the Regulations and b) a light-touch refresh of the Regulations plus a deeper dive in to phosphate issues. The training is to be delivered in an online format to planners and ecologists working in the 25 local planning authorities in Wales, Planning and Environment Decisions Wales and Welsh Government. Those being trained will either take programme a) or b) depending on the circumstances of their authority and a small number of people will follow both training programmes. We anticipate around 250 individuals being trained.The tender is to secure the expertise of specialised consultants for the delivery of the training programme.
