Notice Title
PROVISION OF INCLUSIVE ACCESS REVIEW ACROSS AMGUEDDFA CYMRU SITES.
Notice Description
AC-NMW require the help of a specialist organisation or freelancer/individual to conduct an inclusive access review at each museum so that we can maximise access solutions working from the principles of the social model of disability, into a programme of improvements for the short, medium and long term. Inclusion and participation are key priorities for the museum and we need to significantly improve accessibility for the long term for all.The access review should consider all aspects of access - physical, sensory, communicational and intellectual- and respond to the challenges presented by the Amgueddfa Cymru estate, as the majority of our buildings are listed and/or historical buildings. The access review should cover front facing and back of house areas of the organisation.1.1 Our goal:We wish to use this procurement to establish a baseline across all our museum sites, provide costed and phased recommendations to focus where we can make significant improvements with our access and inclusion needs; and embed working from the social model of disability into all future developments with the design of our services and spaces. We want an inclusive and accessible environment for all our users where we can better facilitate visitors' self-directed independent and group experiences identify gallery areas and other museum spaces where accessible self-directed engagement can be enhanced. We also want to ensure we create an inclusive and accessible working environment for all staff and volunteers. The access review reports should be costed and phased to provide clear route maps for the short, medium and long term.
