Notice Description

The University of South Wales (USW) is undertaking a collaborative research and development project aimed at improving industrial resource efficiency. The project (SMART Circle, Project Ref 122016/COL/003) is funded by the Welsh Government SMART Expertise programme utilizing the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and is being completed in collaboration with a number of industrial partners.The University wishes to procure a laboratory scale system(s) of automatically fed bio-reactors / anaerobic digesters to undertake anaerobic bioprocess research and development. The system(s) should comprise of all of the components required to operate the reactors for this intended purpose and is expected to include at least; feedstock storage with facility for manual replenishment of feedstock, automatic feeding of feedstock to the main reactor, main reactor / digester with mixing and temperature control, digestate storage, gas volume measurement, facility to automatically log system operational parameters.
