Summary of the contracting process

Disability Wales is seeking to evaluate the EQuip Project, which facilitates student placements for young disabled individuals at Welsh universities, through an open tender procurement process. The evaluation aims to assess the project's success in providing employment opportunities and fostering positive perceptions of disabled students by employers. The tender period closed on 24 January 2022, with the contract award made on 4 February 2022. The main procurement category for this project is services, specifically evaluation consultancy services, aimed at improving the capacity of Disabled People’s Organisations.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for consultancy firms experienced in social model evaluations, particularly those familiar with issues surrounding disability inclusion. Businesses that specialise in evaluation methodologies, have a strong understanding of equality issues, and can engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including disabled individuals, would be well-suited to participate in future opportunities related to this project. These businesses can play a pivotal role in shaping successful evaluations that promote equality and representation within the workforce.
