Summary of the contracting process

The North Wales Wildlife Trust is seeking to appoint a qualified organisation for the ongoing independent evaluation of the Stand For Nature Wales Project, launched in April 2021 with an award of £2.5 million through the Climate Action Fund. The procurement, classified under services, is currently at the Award stage following a competitive tender process that concluded on 21st February 2022. The project is expected to run until September 2024, focusing its efforts across various communities in Wales, including Anglesey and the South Wales valleys.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in evaluation consultancy services, particularly those with demonstrated experience in large-scale project evaluations. Companies that focus on environmental conservation, community engagement, and climate change initiatives would find this project especially relevant. The nature of the project underscores the importance of innovative approaches in engaging young people to undertake climate action, creating a pathway for businesses to contribute to meaningful societal change while potentially expanding their operational footprint within the public sector.

Notice Title

Evaluation of Stand For Nature Wales Project (NLCF Climate Action Fund)

Notice Description

The Partnership proposes to appoint a suitably qualified organisation to provide an ongoing independent evaluation of the Stand For Nature Wales Project. In 2020 the Welsh Wildlife Trusts were awarded PS2.5 million to deliver Stand For Nature Wales through the Climate Action Fund. This is the first time that all five local Welsh Trusts along with Wildlife Trusts Wales have established a formal partnership to deliver a project on this scale. The project was publicly launched in April 2021 and is due to end in September 2024, with North Wales Wildlife Trust acting as Lead Partner and majority budget-holder.The project vision (as stated in the original application) is: "A climate- and conservation-conscious Wales, where empowered young people drive changing behaviours." We aim to achieve a Wales richer in wildlife; where habitats and landscapes capture more greenhouse gases; and where young people (aged 9-24) influence their peers and communities to take positive action to tackle climate change. We are focussing our activities in five contrasting communities throughout Wales, each varying in its awareness of climate change and its predicted effects on the local area and beyond; Anglesey, coastal Ceredigion, North Powys, the South Wales valleys and the neighbouring cities of Newport and Cardiff.
