Summary of the contracting process

Sport Wales is looking for proposals to conduct an evaluation of the "Active Education Beyond the School Day" initiative, a tender categorised under services that seeks to enhance physical activity in schools. The procurement, now at the award stage, has a significant focus on understanding the impacts of active education settings, with a deadline for submissions that has now passed. The contract was signed on 10th February 2022, and Swansea University has been awarded the contract based on their expertise in research consultancy and education services. This evaluation will involve data capture analysis and will assess the learnings from pilot schools between August 2021 and July 2022.

This tender presents opportunities for businesses that specialise in research and evaluation, particularly those with a strong background in education and evidence-based policy formulation. Firms that can demonstrate exceptional knowledge in monitoring and evaluation, producing case studies, and aligning practice with policy will be well-positioned to capitalise on similar future tenders. This is particularly relevant for consultancies or organisations focused on improving educational outcomes and promoting physical activity, especially in deprived communities.
