Summary of the contracting process

Swansea University is seeking suppliers for the provision of an Integrated Non-Contact Optical Measurement System, with a value of £200,000. This tender falls under the education sector and is located at the Bay Campus in Swansea, UK. Currently at the Tender stage, the submission period closes on 29 April 2022, with an anticipated award date immediately following. Due to a funding deadline of 31 July 2022, delivery of the system is expected by this date at the Service Yard of the university. The procurement method used is an open procedure, and submissions should be made electronically through the eTenderwales platform.

This procurement presents an exciting opportunity for businesses specialising in advanced optical measurement technology, particularly those with experience in non-contact systems capable of volumetric particle image velocimetry and stereo-digital image correlation. Companies that can demonstrate a strong track record in biomedical engineering applications will be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. Given the funding constraints and the specific technical requirements outlined, this tender could stimulate significant growth for firms positioned within the specialised measurement and imaging sectors.

Notice Title

Supply of Integrated Non-Contact Optical Measurement System

Notice Description

The funding has a tight expenditure deadline (31st July 2022), so we have published this tender before the funding decision. As such, the tender award will be subject to funding award. An FSI non-contact optical measurement system, capable of volumetric particle image velocimetry, or stereo-DIC and stereo-PIV is sought. A 4-camera system will suffice for most applications in mind. A system that can also make use of our existing high-speed camera equipment is highly desirable (2x Photron Nova S6). Delivery will need to be to the Service Yard at Bay Campus, Swansea University, ideally by the 31st July 2022.
