Independent Distribution Network Operator for Bro Tathan Business Park
Notice Description
The Welsh Government (the Employer) is seeking to appoint an Independent Distribution Network Operator to carry out two workstreams at the Bro Tathan Business Park. The workstreams are: (1)Design, Build, Finance and Operate a new High Voltage Power Connection from the Aberthaw 132kV National Grid Substation site to a new primary iDNO Substation located at Bro Tathan, a site owned by the Welsh Government. (2)Design, Build, Finance and Operate new High Voltage Power Connection(s) from HV Infrastructure to serve future and existing development at the site. Total Quantity or Scope The proposed timeline including Procurement and Delivery Stages are as follows: -Prior Information Notice Issued - June 2022 -Initial Engagement Workshop - Mid July 2022 -Issue of Tender - TBC (but likely to be September/October 2022) -Tender Submission - March/April 2023 -Award of Contract - May 2023 -Delivery Stages Begin - May 2023 -First Phase Power (80MW Firm, 80MW Non Firm) Available - Q3 2027 -Second Phase Power (160MW Firm, 120MW Non Firm) Available - Q3 2028 -Third Phase Power (280MW Firm) - Q3 2029

Description The Welsh Government (the Employer) is seeking to appoint an Independent Distribution Network Operator to carry out two workstreams at the Bro Tathan Business Park. The workstreams are: (1) Design, Build, Finance and Operate a new High Voltage Power Connection from the Aberthaw 132kV National Grid Substation site to a new primary iDNO Substation located at Bro Tathan, a site owned by the Welsh Government. (2) Design, Build, Finance and Operate new High Voltage Power Connection(s) from HV Infrastructure to serve future and existing development at the site. Total Quantity or Scope The proposed timeline including Procurement and Delivery Stages are as follows: -Prior Information Notice Issued - June 2022 -Initial Engagement Workshop - Mid July 2022 -Issue of Tender - TBC (but likely to be September/October 2022) -Tender Submission - March/April 2023 -Award of Contract - May 2023 -Delivery Stages Begin - May 2023 -First Phase Power (80MW Firm, 80MW Non Firm) Available - Q3 2027 -Second Phase Power (160MW Firm, 120MW Non Firm) Available - Q3 2028 -Third Phase Power (280MW Firm) - Q3 2029 Interested Parties are invited to attend supplier engagement sessions at the Bro Tathan site in July 2022 (dates for meetings will be Wednesday 21st July 2022 or Thursday 22nd July 2022). Our intention is to offer individual appointments to allow interested parties to present their prior relevant experience and preferred market approach to manage and achieve the successful outcomes described, suppliers are also invited to provide comment on the recently discontinued procurement documents (Contract Notice C299/2021/2022). Please confirm in email to robert.stokes@burroughs.co.uk by Friday 8th July 2022 at 17:00 who will represent your company. Subsequent meetings will be set up with suppliers for the dates identified above. There is to be no more than five individuals per interested party. Please note - These sessions will be for Welsh Government information only. A ny subsequent procurement will be competitively tendered and the procurement documents will be made public. Please note - the figure of 1 GBP is a nominal figure as the overall figure is unknown at this stage.
