Connecting Green Infrastructure - 'Living Roof' Bus Shelter
Notice Description
In 2021, Neath Port Talbot Council acting on behalf of the South Wales Green Infrastructure Partnership was granted funding for the 'Connecting Green Infrastructure' project by Welsh Government's Enabling Natural Resources and Wellbeing (ENRaW) Fund, supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in Rural Areas and Welsh Government. The primary aim of 'Connecting Green Infrastructure', working as part of a new regional partnership, is to enable the co-design and co-delivery of Green Infrastructure (GI) in ways that meets local needs, supports communities and their health, builds ecosystem resilience, and enhances biodiversity. An award has been made by Neath Port Talbot Council to procure a consultant/ consultancy/ contractor to design, construct and deliver their first 'living roof' bus shelter in the Port Talbot area and we are therefore inviting for quotations. This 'pilot' project will aim to demonstrate best practice as well as illustrate innovative ways to deliver green infrastructure sustainably where it is most needed and show how it can fulfill multiple functions and deliver multiple benefits. The 'Living Roof' design specifications are to be provided by the council.
