Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) has executed an Agreement to continue the use of UK Gov Notify - the government's messaging platform. The platform has been developed by Central Government for use by all parts of the public sector to deliver urgent messages/texts. It has been a vital platform in in managing the messages for the Covid vaccination from each Health Board in Wales to its patients since December 2020. Given that the vaccination and booster programmes are still ongoing and likely to continue for as a minimum the next twelve (12) months, it was essential that continued contract coverage was in place.

Procurement Information

Given the criticality to provide continued access to a proven COVID Vaccine IT System, DHCW executed another agreement with UK Gov Notify by October 2022. Since December 2020, the system has enabled transactional communications (letters, emails and text messages) to be sent in large numbers, as required to support the Vaccination programme. An agreed Appointment Letter template is already established and in use and can continue to be deployed, without any interruption to the service. Finally, it has been further developed in response to the COVID pandemic as the "go to" platform for using in respect of managing the risks of COVID. The platform is being utilised across the UK and has been endorsed for use by the Westminster Government and regional governments e.g., Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
