2023 Keepers Pond- Crayfish survey and Control Options Study
Notice Description
Keeper's Pond is a waterbody, recently designated as a reservoir, of 1.48 hectares situated near the town of Blaenavon within the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) National Park.Purpose of this contract1. To provide a robust and definitive answer to the question of which species of Crayfish are present in Keeper's Pond, its inlets, and outlet and the smaller ponds to the south and west of the carpark through surveys.2. To review whether the population of American signal crayfish present, poses a risk to nearby White clawed crayfish populations.3. To present costed options for potential American signal crayfish control, in order to prevent their spread particularly protecting any White clawed crayfish populations nearby.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=132387.The buyer has indicated that it will accept electronic responses to this notice via the Postbox facility.
