Contract for Removal, Disposal & Renewal Double Glazed UPVC Windows & Composite Doors - West Cross
Notice Description
Swansea Council has a regeneration scheme to bring dwellings in line with the Welsh Housing Quality Standard requirements. The following document sets out the specification in line with the Client (Swansea Council Housing) Brief. The purpose of the regeneration scheme is to carry out works to upgrade Thermal Value to 47nr. Council owned properties in West Cross, Swansea. Properties within regeneration scheme are tenanted 2/3 Bed semi-detached Properties and 2 storey Flats. External Wall fabric is Traditional Cavity Wall Construction made up of an internal Blockwork Skin, 50mm Cavity and a pebble dashed Blockwork external facade.The following specification is taken from Rehau Windows. We will accept any other system/manufacturer that is equal in specification, as checked by the PM, should the tendering contractor wish to put forward in their tender submission.All properties with external timber doors (not including outhouses) to be replaced with composite doors. All dwelling doorsets are to comply with the following requirements: BS PAS 23-1: 1999 General performance requirements for door assemblies. BS PAS 24-1: 2007 Enhanced security performance requirements for door assemblies.

"eligibilityCriteria": "The Contractor shall not use any materials on site unless it is specified in their schedule, without the prior approval in writing by the Project Manager. Remove existing windows and replace with new double glazed white upvc windows. See window sections for details.The Contractor is responsible for taking all final measurements and must visit site to determine accurate site dimensions and quantities as required. No extras will be allowed arising from information which could have been gained through a proper site inspection.Windows shall be constructed of PVCu with steel reinforcement to frames. The material shall be white. Existing windows to be carefully removed taking care to minimise damage to internal reveals. Windows to be disposed off site, glass to be recycled.",
