Bron Afon Community Housing (Bron Afon) is looking to appoint a suitably qualified principal contractor (PC) to undertake external refurbishment works to 1-12 Tyn Y Coed, these are two-storey blocks of flats located in Fairwater, Cwmbran. Tyn Y Coed is one building split into 3 blocks, 1-4, 5-8 & 9-12. Each block contains 4 individual residential flats, each block have their own independent entrance and the upstairs flatsare accessed by the communal stairwells of the individual blocks. The flats consist of Bron Afon Contract Holders and Lease Holders.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=136815.The buyer has indicated that it will accept electronic responses to this notice via the Postbox facility. (WA Ref:136815)Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority's economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:Bron Afon is committed to delivering 'Community Benefits' from its procurement activities.Community benefits covers a wide range of activities and Bron Afon asks its providers to understand and deliver the activities which creates the most value to our communities, these can include: Creating and maximising local opportunities within Torfaen. Training and recruitment opportunities for the long term economically inactive (long term economically inactive means those not been in paid employment in the last 3 months immediately prior to the date of this invitation) Volunteering days Landscaping/Building Services support to regenerate for communal areas Support for local youth groups and other community groups Sponsoring of mini sporting tournament or event Community newsletters advising on impact of service delivery Contributions to education such as work placements for secondary-school children and college students, landscaping/building services support to regenerate for school playgrounds Utilise local supply chains.Tenderers are to submit a method statement in the form of a community benefits plan setting out how they will deliver 'community benefits' through the Contract, this statement is to be completed in Appendix 1b and will not be scored, however the successful Tenderer will be required to deliver any proposed benefits during the term of the Contract.In addition to any community benefit proposal Tenderers are required as a condition of the Contract to make a cash donation to support the Bron Afon Community Grants Fund. The value of the cash donation will be calculated annually based on contract spend and must as a minimum equal to 1.5% of annual contract value.The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
