The university's silver scheme is based upon a risk assessment approach for fire safety and forms part of the university's overarching fire safety strategy improvement works. The silver scheme approach seeks to replace flat entrance door sets, kitchen door sets and central circulation door sets, and plant door sets with new certified door sets. The door sets are to be replaced and installed with certified door sets including the manufacture and installation to BM Trada Q mark (as noted above this is a supply only contract with the installation being procured under a different contract) It is anticipated that all site works are to be undertaken during the summer period from mid-June through to late-August of 2024 while the identified assets are vacant over the summer period.
