Notice Title

Provision of inclusive access review National Slate Museum, llanberis

Notice Description

It is vital that the plans benefit from professional input to ensure that they, and subsequently, the redeveloped museum are as accessible as possible for both visitors and members of staff. AC is therefore seeking a suitable supplier to conduct an inclusive access review at Llanberis to maximise equitable access throughout the design of the redevelopment project, applying the principles of the social model of disability. This work will build on an inclusive access review that was completed in 2022 for the National Slate Museum site, which is available as part of this tender pack. Your work will build on this previous work to provide additional museum site and service specific information that will enable us to work with communities and deliver more diverse, engaging and inclusive spaces and services in our museum. The work will consider all aspects of access - physical, sensory, communicational and intellectual - and respond to the challenges presented by Amgueddfa Cymru's Gilfach Ddu site which is a Grade 1 listed building incorporating a scheduled ancient monument and overall forming a key site within the UNESCO World Heritage Site for the Slate Communities of Northwest Wales. The access review should cover front facing and back of house areas of the site.We want an inclusive and accessible environment for all our users where we can better facilitate and enhance visitors' self-directed engagement with our spaces. We also want to ensure we create an inclusive and accessible working environment for all staff and volunteers. For links for public access information on our website, widening engagement reports, Future Generation Wales Act 2015 and a list of available documentation, see section 9.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=142263.
