USW - CARDIFF STUDENT ACCOMMODATION NOMINATION 2025/2026

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH WALES

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

The University of South Wales (USW), located in Pontypridd, is currently in the planning stages of a procurement process for the Cardiff Student Accommodation Nomination for the 2025/2026 academic cycle. This process invites expressions of interest from potential suppliers to provide approximately 270 to 300 bed spaces with 42–44-week contracts in Cardiff. The target accommodation must consist of standard en-suite cluster flats, excluding studio flats, with rents capped at £185 per week and include 24/7 residence support along with a residence life/social programme. Expressions of interest must be submitted electronically to procurement@southwales.ac.uk by 12th August 2024. An open day for potential suppliers is planned for September 2024, and an Invitation to Tender (ITT) will follow shortly thereafter.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the real estate and higher education services sectors. Companies that specialise in purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and have a track record of providing quality services under nomination agreements would be well-positioned to compete. This engagement encourages potential bidders to demonstrate their experience with similar projects, focusing on partnership approaches, resident health and safety, compliance records, and mental health support. By aligning with USW's growth plans and expanding their portfolio in a thriving city like Cardiff, businesses can establish long-term relationships and enhance their competitiveness in the student accommodation market.
