Summary of the contracting process

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent Police is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for victim services, classified under the "Public order and safety" industry category (COFOG: 03). The process is initiated via a Prior Information Notice (PIN) on 13th September 2024 with a subsequent market engagement event scheduled for 11am on 2nd October 2024, to be conducted online via Microsoft Teams. The location concerned is the UK region of Gwent (UKL2), and the service is set for renewal on 1st April 2025. This engagement seeks to assess market capability and interest, and it does not yet signify the start of the procurement exercise.

This procurement presents a remarkable opportunity for businesses in the victim services sector to grow by participating in a significant public contract. The tender is well-suited for organisations specialising in supporting victims of crime, offering both emotional and practical support. Suitable businesses should have experience in providing trauma-informed and needs-led support, addressing the diverse needs of victims, and fostering improvement in their experience within the criminal justice system. The engagement process will help tailor the procurement based on market feedback, ensuring that it meets the needs of the community effectively.
