Summary of the contracting process

Cardiff Council is planning a procurement process for the “Cardiff Riding School” project, currently in the planning stage. The project aims to identify an operator capable of managing and enhancing the local authority-operated equestrian facility, located in Cardiff, within the UKL22 region. The riding school, valued at £544,184, provides various services including riding lessons for schools, children, and adults, alternative curriculums for at-risk children, and livery for private horse owners. Key upcoming dates include a future notice release on 1st December 2024, and a meet the buyer event during the week commencing 7th October 2024, where potential bidders can engage with Council representatives.

This tender presents an excellent growth opportunity for businesses specialising in recreational, educational, and community services. The successful bidder will need to invest significantly in the facility, develop and modernise the educational programmes, and manage existing and new staff. Companies with a background in equestrian management, educational programme development, and those prepared for capital investment will find this tender particularly suitable. The project holds potential for significant business growth through both service enhancement and the expansion of its educational offerings, making it an attractive proposition for experienced operators in the field.
