  • Contract Summary

Following the introduction of the Local Government and Elections (Wales) Act 2021 each Local Authority in Wales must undertake a Panel Performance Assessment (PPA) once during each electoral term of the local authority. The Act places a duty on councils to arrange for a panel to undertake and respond to a corporate, organisational level assessment, of the council, to the extent the council is meeting its performance requirements. Performance requirements are defined as the extent to which a council:is exercising its functions effectively;is using its resources economically, efficiently, and effectively; andhas effective governance in place for securing the above. To support the peer panel, a comprehensive summary/overview of the Council's financial position is provided to enable the panel to have succinct financial information that enable the panel to discharge their functions whilst attending the PPA.This document is the subject of this notice. The WLGA wish to secure expressions of interest from suitable suppliers to this work that we estimate to be £17,500 for 14 remaining assessments.
