Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, has awarded a contract for the "Single Point of Access (SPOA) for Central Vale Cardiff" project. This contract falls within the services category and is governed by the Health Services (Provider Selection Regime) (Wales) Regulations 2025, excluding the Public Contracts Regulations 2015/Procurement Act 2023. The procurement process culminated in the award stage with a confirmation of contract on 30th May 2025. The services commenced on 1st June 2025 and are slated to run until 31st May 2026, with potential extensions for two years, valued at £126,000 VAT-exempt. The project is implemented in Central Vale Cardiff, associated with the UKL22 region, primarily involving community wellbeing support services.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses, especially those specialising in healthcare and community services. The contract was awarded through a limited procurement method, specifically the PSR Wales Direct Award Process 2, to Mind in the Vale of Glamorgan, a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME). Their established presence and integrated service delivery make them particularly suitable. Businesses with experience in healthcare service coordination, community engagement, or similar operational infrastructures could find such opportunities advantageous, especially those capable of leveraging existing relationships within local healthcare frameworks and integrating robust information and governance systems.
