Notice Description

The National Library of Wales needs an appliance with appropriate signal collection, decoding, recording, disk storage and network capability to enable the continuous recording of at least four TV channels and two radio channels for exporting and delivering into the Library's Digital Archive and Wales Broadcast Archive service.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=159421.The buyer has indicated that it will accept electronic responses to this notice via the Postbox facility. A user guide is available at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/sitehelp/help_guides.aspx.Suppliers are advised to allow adequate time for uploading documents and to dispatch the electronic response well in advance of the closing time to avoid any last minute problems. NLW requires a solution which will record all content broadcast on specific channels (BBC 1 Wales HD; BBC 2 Wales HD; ITV1 Wales HD; S4C HD; BBC Radio Wales; BBC Radio Cymru) (and possibly additional channels) for a period of 30 days. During that period some of the output will be selected by curators for retention to become part of NLW's collections, this is normally about 20 radio programmes and 30 TV programmes every day.NLW requires the solution to have the ability to store the selected recordings and their metadata for a longer period of 270 days to provide flexibility when copies of recordings and metadata are exported in batch and further processed by other systems. Once successful processing of exported content is confirmed, NLW will delete the exported content to retrieve storage capacity.(WA Ref:159421)
