Summary of the contracting process

Caerphilly County Borough Council, in partnership with the Welsh Government, has successfully completed the procurement process for the "Award of a Google Service Partner" on behalf of the Welsh Government. This tender falls within the category of General Public Services, focusing on technology services to manage and support Google Workspace for local authorities across Wales. The procurement process was a mini competition conducted under Lot 6 of the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Technology Products & Associated Services 2 Framework (RM6098). The procurement method was 'limited', with the rationale that it fell outside the standard directive's scope. The contract, valued at £226,000, was awarded on 19th December 2025, to the supplier Getech, a large-scale organisation based in Suffolk.

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in technology services, infrastructure management, and digital transformation. Organisations with expertise as Google partners, particularly those who can offer seamless integration and support services, will find this an attractive prospect. Additionally, there's a flexible call-off provision that invites other local authorities in Wales to partake in the services offered by Getech, promoting widespread and potential broader business expansion avenues. This aspect of the procurement is beneficial for companies with the capacity to deliver on-demand IT support and consulting services to a network of public sector clients.
