This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

Powys County Council has completed the reopening of the Social Care Training Framework for courses aimed at Adults and Children's Services from 2026 to 2027. This procurement initiative falls under the "services" category, focusing on general public services, specifically adult and children's social care training. Located in Wales, the Council used a pseudo-Open Procedure in compliance with Regulations 74-77 Light Touch Regime under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The Framework Agreement is set for up to four years, running until 31st March 2027, with the procurement process now in the award stage. Powys County Council, acting as the central purchasing body, aims to align the funding with Welsh Government allocations. The contract for Children's Social Care Training has been awarded to IGNITE(TRAINING WALES) LTD, with the agreement signed on 8th December 2025.

This tender opens avenues for entities involved in the provision of social care training courses to engage in shaping the framework for Adult and Children's services. Business growth opportunities abound for training providers operating in Wales and the broader UK region, given the framework's multi-year span and annual delivery schedule, which caters to changing workforce demand. Organisations, especially SMEs, capable of delivering comprehensive social care training courses, stand to benefit from potential future commissioning that aligns with the Council’s annual training needs and priorities. The flexible award process favours transparency and equal treatment, promising opportunities for businesses adhering to strict public sector standards. With minimum competition experienced in recent bids, this tender represents a promising opportunity for niche training providers looking to establish or expand their foothold in the sector.
