Positioned under the "works" sector, this procurement was initiated through an in-house mechanical framework with a focus on both commercial and technical considerations, specifically 60% on commercial and 40% on technical aspects, resulting in the selection of 2D Building Contractors Ltd from Pontyclun as the successful bidder. The contract, valued at £140,974.78, was cemented on 25th March 2026, marking the transition from tender stage to award.

This tender offers notable opportunities for specialists in building construction and related trades, seeking to engage in government contracts and expand their portfolio within the healthcare construction sector. Companies specialising in enabling works and demolition will find this project particularly beneficial due to the necessary structural removal and preparatory tasks required for developing the Haematology Unit. The procurement process, managed through a competitive framework, highlights the potential for growth for businesses that prioritise a balanced approach to commercial viability and technical expertise in their proposals.
