Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is initiating a procurement process for the Scottish Employability Support Services, which is designed to provide employment support to individuals, especially those at risk of long-term unemployment in Scotland. The contracts are expected to commence in April 2018 and will span three years, with a potential two-year extension, amounting to a projected budget of approximately £90 million, contingent on agreements with the UK Government. Supplier Awareness Events are scheduled in Glasgow, Inverness, and Edinburgh during late November and early December 2016, aimed at informing potential bidders about the forthcoming procurement details.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in employment services, particularly those with expertise in aiding disabled individuals or persons claiming employment benefits. Companies that are adept at designing support programmes, providing counselling, and facilitating job placements are particularly well-suited to engage in this tender. Participation in the Supplier Awareness Events will also offer networking opportunities and insights into how to effectively tailor bids to meet the requirements set forth by the Scottish Government.
