Summary of the contracting process

The University of Glasgow is conducting a procurement process for the provision of a Six Channel Imaging Flow Cytometer, referred to as PPE Ref 2130. The award process took place in Glasgow, with the contract being signed on 18 October 2016. This procurement falls under the goods category and was executed through a limited award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in advanced imaging technologies and related goods, particularly those offering high-performance flow cytometers. The unique specifications and mandatory technical criteria indicate a niche market that may benefit manufacturers or suppliers that can demonstrate their capability to meet complex research needs. Businesses well-suited for this competition should have experience in producing equipment for educational and research institutions, ideally with a focus on bioscience applications.
