Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is led by LAR Housing Trust, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation based in Dunfermline, Scotland. The title of the tender is "Framework for purchase of new homes for below market rent," which falls under the works category in the housing and community amenities industry. The tender was initiated on November 7, 2016, and submissions were due by December 9, 2016, as part of a selective procurement method using a restricted procedure. LAR aims to appoint multiple contractors who have access to land to construct homes that meet their specifications, primarily focusing on Edinburgh, East Lothian, and Midlothian where the demand is greatest.

This tender presents significant opportunities for developers, housebuilders, and related businesses looking to expand their portfolio in the residential construction sector. Companies experienced in building homes to specific technical specifications, particularly those that can deliver two and three-bedroom properties, are encouraged to participate. The framework agreement allows for up to 20 suppliers, creating a competitive environment for firms capable of meeting LAR's requirements and demonstrating robust technical and financial capability.
