Provision of Tenants Household Contents Insurance
Notice Description
The Council was seeking a Contractor who would undertake to enter into contracts for household contents insurance with Tenants who have confirmed, in writing, that they will pay individual premiums on a weekly or monthly basis to the Council's rent office. The term "Tenants" shall mean any individual residing in property owned by the Council for which they pay a fixed rent to the Council, on a weekly or monthly basis. The Contractor will provide proposal forms, policy booklets, claim forms, to the Council. The Contractor will authorise the Council to undertake on their behalf certain administrative functions including issuing proposal and claim forms and Certificates of Insurance. The Council shall retain an agreed percentage of the total amount of premiums payable to the Contractor by the Tenants. Such amount shall be deducted by the Council and retained on a monthly basis from monies collected from Tenants by the Council in respect of the Tenants' insurance premium.
