Notice Description
The evaluation of the Dementia Dog Project, exploring the benefits assistance dogs can bring to help people live well with dementia. The Dementia Dog Project is a collaboration between Alzheimer Scotland and Dogs for Good, funded by the Life Changes Trust. Based in Scotland, this three year project aims to match and place eight fully trained assistance dogs with people living at home with dementia who also live with a full time carer. The work being tendered is the evaluation of the Dementia Dog Project in its new phase. The aim of the evaluation is to explore and measure how the assistance dogs can help people to live well with dementia, and what is the effect also on their carers and families.

Lot 1
The successful applicant require to undertake the following tasks: - Liaise with Dementia Dog Project and the Life Changes Trust on the project methodology and agree final timescales. - Carry out agreed fieldwork and support Dementia Dog Project Team in any recording and fieldwork that it carries out. - Attend all meetings associated with the project at which the evaluator(s) is required - these will generally be held in Glasgow or Edinburgh, anticipated to be three times a year. - Analyse the evaluation findings and present them in ways that are innovative, engaging and meaningful to communicating to key project stakeholders (people with dementia, carers, health and social care providers, NHS, assistance dog partner organisations). - Create straightforward discussion papers so that themes and threads can be explored more deeply by a wide and varied selection of stakeholders.
