Notice Description

Holyrood Park Lodge is a mid-19th century lodge house, immediately to the east of the Scottish Parliament building, at the north entrance to Holyrood Park.This package of works involve the careful removal and downtaking of dated finishes and decor, insulation to suspended timber floor, cavity wall insulation and window upgrades. Re-decoration will use materials sympathetic to the age of the building whilst maintaining appropriate breathability and creating additional passive ventilation with the re-instatement of two original fireplaces. Display hatches will be created in a number of wall and floor sections, as this will be a publically accessible interpretation space promoting the use of appropriate insulating materials in traditional buildings.
